We have been renting dedicated and colocated servers for over 10 years and we know what customers want. The servers are located in a our own Dedicated Data Center that we manage. It is our network that we do not share with our customers. Each server is tested, certified, and installed in our racks.
Now a little about what you are bidding on........
You are bidding on the monthly fee of a one year contract for a dedicated server that will meet or beat the following
specifications :
- CentOS Core 4 Linux (RedHat)
- 766 Mhz CPU
- 10 gigs of disk
- 256 Megs of RAM
Below is a list of just some of the software installed in it.
Webmin, Bind , Webalizer,
PERL, GCC, PHP,
Apache, Sendmail, Procmail, Squirrelmail, MySQL, OpenSSH,
ActivePerl, etc....
Basically anything that comes standard with Red Hat, we will install on the server.
The software installed is the complete package provided by CentOS. You should have some working knowledge of Linux to use this
server.
The Web baseed control panel is Webmin and Virtualmin. This will
allow the admin to control accounts via a web page. The Admin will be able
to add users/groups, IP addresses, email, and webserver accounts all
via the web. It is a very simple to use and quick to learn. You can check out all the features by going to:

The server will come with 4 dedicated IP addresses for you to
use and you will have root access to the server. It will be your server
and not shared with any other users. The price includes 256kbps of
bandwidth burstable up to T1 Speeds. This is about 1000 gigs of
transfer a month.
The machine will be located in our machine room on a rack
protected by a UPS, and gas generator. It is monitored 24/7 for any environmental issues. If you are local to the Boston area you will be
allowed in the machine room if you need direct access to the machine.
We reserve the right to replace this machine with another one that either meets or beats the specs provided here.
Some people have asked if this machine can be configured as a
Windows server, It can, but all licensing fees for the server
software are extra and not included in the bid price. Any other third
party program that you may want on the server will need to be purchased
and paid for by the bidder.
It usually takes a day or two for us to configure the server once we have received the first full payment.
